Quick ground and a four-meeting card give Monday a decent shape. Carlisle and Chepstow handle the afternoon, Wetherby sits in the middle of it, and then everything shifts to Windsor for a floodlit finish. Plenty of our fancies sit at sensible prices today, but there are a few each-way chances tucked in for those who like a bit more out of their stake.
Chepstow is where we lean hardest early on. Pride Of Nepal opens the account for us at 1:50 and he is two from two going the right way, with his strongest work coming in the last few weeks. The mile and a quarter suits everything we know about him and he looks handicapped to follow up. Later on the card, Hint Of The Jungle has been knocking on the door over this seven furlongs, running into places without quite getting his head in front. The efforts keep improving, stall six is a help, and at 3.5 we think the win is close. Sonic Si and Whitesnake round out a busy afternoon there.
Wetherby is the meeting for anyone chasing a price. Bradbury is the short one we trust, but the eye goes to Happier at 4:15. He stands out in this sprint despite a quiet recent line, and his best showing on the clock reads far stronger than the bare figures suggest. Drawn high and ready over five, Sam James has something to work with at a generous number. Thornaby Annie and Bayraat give the card its solid spine.
Then Windsor takes over once the lights come on. Seventy is our anchor in the 8:30, a proven course winner who stands clear of this field with his times sharpening every run. Quick ground plays to his strengths, the draw is handy, and Mitchell partners one they all have to pass. Earlier in the evening, Rianka is the each-way poke at 17.0. She catches the eye on a falling weight that finally drops her to a workable mark, a low draw helps over the minimum trip, and Ghiani has a runner worth chancing at that price. Too Hot To Tango and Another Abbot keep us interested through the rest of the card.
Carlisle does not get left out either, with Runninsonofagun our pick of the three there. It is a card that rewards patience more than fireworks, the kind of Monday where getting the staking right matters as much as picking the winners. We will see how the evening at Windsor unfolds.
